The Bamboo Organ of Las Piñas City is the world’s most famous bamboo pipe organ, with 1,031 pipes—mostly made from bamboo. It was built in the early 19th century by Spanish missionary Fr. Diego Cera, who cleverly adapted the European organ to the Philippine climate by treating the bamboo in beach sand for durability.
Completed in 1821, the organ survived natural disasters and years of damage before being restored locally and later in Germany. It returned to the Philippines in 1975 and inspired the annual International Bamboo Organ Festival, attracting music lovers from around the world.
In 2003, the Bamboo Organ was officially declared a National Cultural Treasure, honoring its unique craftsmanship and lasting cultural importance.
Guests are invited to join a guided museum tour and witness the world-renowned Bamboo Organ as it is played. The tour includes a visit to the historic church, the museum, and the choir loft, where visitors may view the organ closely and appreciate its exceptional design and craftsmanship.
